Goldmine 2013 Online ApplicationDue date for Online and Mail-in Applications is May 31, 2013
GoldMine is a joyful, challenging, intense week of interaction from morning until night, where Students and Staff work together, bonding over engaging themselves and each other in building community. And we do build community, but not for it's own sake. We build it so that we can be more effective in the world.
GoldMine Youth Leadership School is a laboratory for studying how to bring Unitarian Universalism to life, how to make it more enrolling, and how to recognize and reinforce what makes a community invitational. GoldMine also teaches how to bring that kind of knowledge, skill, and joy to the rest of your life.
GoldMine is not camp, nor is it a retreat. GoldMine is an event that can result in a significant change in the life of a young person, in a community, and in the larger world of Unitarian Universalism. GoldMine is about bringing a community of youth and adults to a turning point with the potential to engage a new level of understanding, confidence, clarity, and depth about what it means to be a leader. It's an event that can change the way we think and act as Unitarian Universalists, and it is an investment in our future.
