Organizers for the 2012 Pacific Northwest District (PNWD) District Assembly (DA) are seeking exhibits for display during this annual gathering of Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) congregations. The 2012 PNWD District Assembly will provide a forum to celebrate our 50th anniversary. In 1961, Unitarian and Universalist faiths consolidated and a year later, the Pacific Northwest District (PNWD) evolved into a new organization. We'll review our remarkable history and we'll look to the future as we Carry the Flame to promote UU principles to a world clearly in need of more justice, equity, liberty, compassion, tolerance, respect, peace and spiritual growth.
Exhibits should complement the Carry the Flame theme and may highlight the 50-year anniversary. We are looking for exhibits from District programs, PNWD associate member organizations, other UU groups, and non-UU groups if related to the assembly theme or of particular value and interest to attendees (preference given to non-profits). Exhibit Area and Hours
The host facility is the Anchorage Downtown Marriott hotel. Most District Assembly workshops and sessions will occur within the second floor conference area. Exhibits will be set-up in the high-traffic Pre-Function area adjacent to the workshop and general session rooms. Continental breakfast (Saturday) and food/beverage for breaks will be served in the Pre-Function area to encourage attendees to browse through the exhibits.
SPACE: Vendor space includes: 1) 8-foot table; 2) two chairs; 3) electrical outlets (if requested on the form); and 4) access to Wi-Fi connection for exhibits including Internet-based displays.
HOURS: Set-up Noon to 4:00 p.m. Friday, May 18. Break-down/Clean-up is 8:00 a.m. to Noon on Sunday, May 20.
EXHIBIT HOURS: 4:00 - 7:30 p.m. Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday; 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. Sunday (optional)
Application Costs and Deadlines
Exhibit cost: $35 non-profit; $50 for-profit (exception: $0 District Executive-approved PNWD Programs).
Deadline to apply for exhibit space is Friday, March 16, 2012.
