Your District Office
by Diane Brinson, PNWD Administrator
From: March 2006

In case you don’t click beyond this front page very often, I want to make sure you are up to date with the happenings in your district office.

District Executive Janine Larsen, Program Specialist Tandi Rogers Koerger and I make up the PNWD executive staff. We are the district’s three full-time employees, with Janine and Tandi co-employed by the UUA. Between the three of us, we try to provide you with the answers you need. Oftentimes the solution will be to put you in touch with one of our consultants specializing in areas such as compensation, religious education, healthy congregations, ecological practices, etc. The district has a rich cadre of consultants available to work with our congregations.

We are also very fortunate to have a stellar part-time district staff.

The Rev. Jeanne Pupke recently began serving the district as our Growth Minister. This part-time position is funded by a grant provided by the Pacific Northwest UU Growth Foundation (PNUUGF). Along with her district role, Jeanne serves as PNUUGF Executive Director, and is also the consulting minister for the UU Fellowship of Central Oregon in Bend.

In December Leanne Todd was hired as part-time office assistant to take on some office tasks, administer the Dorothy Spoerl Resource Library and manage the database for the Chalice Lighters Program. This has freed Mary Marsh to spend her time exclusively as our part-time web manager.

Jane Millar stepped in as our interim bookkeeper in January when Janet Fleck resigned to devote more time to her university studies. When Jane’s stint in the office is completed, she will be available to consult with us until Leanne Todd is transitioned into the role of bookkeeper. After completing a training program, Leanne will be increasing her hours to take on this added responsibility.

If you’ve registered for a Lifespan conference or workshop recently, you probably mailed your form and payment to Jenell DeMatteo. Jenell works out of her home office as registrar for PNWD Lifespan events.

Jane, Leanne and I all work out of the district office here in Bellevue, WA. When you call the district office 8-3 PT on a weekday, chances are that I will be the one to answer the phone. Although our other staff members work out of their home offices, you can still call our office toll-free from within the district at 800-313-PNWD [7693] and we will be happy to relay a message to them for you. Each staff member is also available via email.

We are your district staff. Let us know how we can help you!
