Young Adult Program

The schedule is infused with several opportunities for young adults (YA) — ages 18 (graduated from high school) to 35 — to meet, discuss and engage with one another. YAs will attend general sessions and workshops on Saturday. Plans also call for a Friday evening meet-and-greet and a pizza dinner (pizza cost is not part of registration); Friday late evening outdoor activity; Saturday meet-ups including breakfast check-in and a picnic lunch-and-walk downtown, and a Sunday morning wrap-up discussion. To participate, check the YA age group on the registration form.

Menu Choices

Registration includes continental breakfast, box lunch and dinner on Saturday, and continental breakfast on Sunday. If you prefer a vegan choice for lunch and dinner, please indicate this on your registration form. The DA Planning Team must provide a count of meal options to the hotel 30 days prior to the event. If you have special dietary needs please contact Bridget Rainey at bridget.rainey74@gmail.com.

Assembly Choir

Assembly attendees have an opportunity to join with fellow UUs, raising your voice in song during the Sunday morning worship service. Rehearsal times will be announced soon. Indicate your interest in participating in the 2012 PNWD District Assembly choir on the registration form.

Volunteers

The District Assembly Planning Team is seeking volunteers to help with a variety of tasks during the conference. Financial incentives are not available to volunteers this year. For the good of the community, please consider donating an hour or two of your time and check the Volunteer Box on the Registration Form. A volunteer coordinator will contact you.

Disability Assistance

The Anchorage Downtown Marriott Hotel is accessible to people with disabilities. However, special accommodations must be made in advance for people who require assistance with hearing and/or sign language interpretation. Please contact Facilities co-Coordinator Margot Wiegele, margot.w@gmail.com, by March 23, 2012, if you need enhanced hearing devices or sign language interpretation. Limited resources in Anchorage require advance notice to reserve.

Vendors and Exhibits

UU-related organizations can reach a focused audience of UUs with a table in the Exhibit area, set up in the high-traffic pre-function space adjacent to workshop and general session meeting rooms. Exhibits will be open Friday evening, all day Saturday and Sunday morning. Cost is just $35 for non-profit organizations. Deadline to apply for exhibit space is March 16. Additional details and an application form are available on the District web site in both PDF and Word format. For more information call Vendor Coordinator Yolanda Meza at (907) 764-9234, or email mezalehn@alaska.com.
